Hello -

My name is Alissa and I was born and raised in the greater Seattle area. I began teaching myself art around the age of twelve.

I am continually growing and learning new forms of art expression. This beautifully lush world around us is what drives my inspiration for new creations.

I would love to make something beautiful for you. I am now accepting freelance assignments. Please read bellow for commission information and terms and conditions.

Please reach out and contact  with any inquires.

Commissions

Thank you so much for your interest in my work! I am excited to chat with you about your vision and help it come to life!

The process:

Commissions are first come first serve. If you have a deadline for your work, please mention that early on in our correspondences and I will let you know if I am able to work within your deadline.

The first step to getting a commissioned piece is to have a conversation about your vision for the work. This can be done over email (alissa.mjb@gmail.com)  Instagram Direct Message or through the “contact me” section of my website. During this conversation we will go over your vision for the work you want - you will show me several reference photos so I can visualize your desired piece and will discuss it in length.

Once I decide that I want to take on the project, I will quote you a price.

Before quoting a price, I consider these factors:

  • Your desired size of final product

  • Complexity of desired product

  • How many faces will I have to paint

  • Desired level or rendering (e.g., photo realism versus impressionistic)

  • Added elements of imagination (e.g., wanting me to make something from several different sources and compositing them into a single composition)

  • What type of materials will you want it on

Once we have agreed on the price and the scope of the piece, I will send you a PayPal invoice to your email. I will only begin the commission after the full payment is received. There are no refunds once I begin working on your piece.

During the painting process I may reach out to ask questions about the work. For example, color preferences or if you are happy with the direction of a certain element. I am willing to make minor changes but will not make major compositional alterations that go beyond what we already discussed.

Once the work is complete, I will mail it to you. All shipping and handling cost are covered by you and will be included in the initial invoice.

Alternatively, if you live in the greater Seattle area, we can arrange a time and place to meet up and I can give it to you in person.
